Hi, I'm Jaki.. probably no surprice given my store name. Jakis Attic is a joint venture between myself and my wonderful husband Bob.
Bob and I met over the internet in 1999. In 2007 I finally made the move and came over to USA, and we married in May 2007. Things are good, and I'm not planning a divorce yet lol.
I've been sewing since I was in high school (Ok, I'll admit to that being over 30 yrs ago !!) I loved making my own clothes as a teenage and knowing I was wearing something new and unique when I went out on a Saturday night.
When I started a family I made most of l my daughters clothes. It was always a great sense of acheivement to see a flat lifeless peice of fabric turn into a little outfit.
I still feel that way today, and love seeing my 3 yr old nieces face when she tries something new on.
I'm by no means a professional seamstress, I never had any recognised training, but I stand by my work. All my garments are made with love. And its true love. I love fabric shopping, I love trying out new designs and patterns, I love seeing that lifeless cloth taking shape and becoming something wonderful and wearable.
